Posavje Living Lab for a Better & Sustainable Future

Posavje Living Lab is being established as part of the Ruralities Project in the heart of the Posavje region, Slovenia. It will serve as a dynamic center for sustainable innovation, focusing on three main areas: agriculture, digitalization, the preservation of cultural heritage and sustainable tourism.

The Living Lab will act as a catalyst for positive change in rural communities. It will offer practical workshops and activities on topics such as self-sufficiency and short food supply chains, the use of digital technologies in agriculture, the promotion of local products and cultural heritage.

Local businesses, schools, associations, and residents will actively participate in developing and testing innovative solutions through joint initiatives and research projects.

The Living Lab will become a hub for learning and research, where sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, cultural heritage, and digital technologies come together. By combining modern technologies with traditional practices, it aims to demonstrate how innovation and cultural heritage can successfully coexist. 

In the long term, Posavje Living Lab aims to become a model for Slovenian (and European) rural communities – a place where knowledge, innovation, and culture intersect, inspiring a more sustainable future that connects people, nature, and technology.
